Senior Premier Sports Awards 2026

What an incredible evening celebrating the outstanding achievements of our student athletes, teams, coaches, managers and wider sporting community at the 2026 Massey High School Senior Premier Sports Awards.

A special mihi to our Sports Prefects, Cooper Meek and Jaime Robinson, for leading the evening with confidence. You both did an outstanding job helping make the night such a success, and we are incredibly proud of the leadership you showed throughout the event.

A huge congratulations to all of our award winners and nominated athletes. This year marked another exciting milestone for our sporting programme, with both Weightlifting and CrossFit now being recognised and celebrated as team sports within our awards. The growth in these areas has been phenomenal, and it was incredibly special to see these athletes attend and come together as a team.

A special acknowledgement to Mr and Mrs Kanuta, Mrs Mitchell and Miss Fusitu'a for the work they have done in creating opportunities, pathways and a strong culture within these sports. They have helped grow participation, develop leaders and contribute to CrossFit becoming a sanctioned secondary school sport that can now be enjoyed by students across Auckland.

We were privileged to have Maia Wilson and David Liti join us as our MC and guest speaker. Their presence and words were truly inspiring for our rangatahi.

Finally, thank you to every coach, manager, official, volunteer, staff member, parent and supporter who braves the early mornings, long days, cold and wet winter nights, and gives countless hours throughout the season to make sport happen for our students.

Sport does not just develop athletes; it develops leaders, resilience, teamwork and lifelong skills.
