Ready to grow your leadership skills? Applications are now open for Massey High School’s Junior Leadership Development Programme for students entering Years 9 and 10.

No previous leadership experience is required — any student can apply. The programme provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills through group discussions, practical activities and hands-on learning.

Year 9 students will develop key skills including:

• Active Listening – listening for real understanding
• Working as a Team – working together towards a common goal
• Speaking & Presenting – communicating with confidence and debating
• Facilitation – leading group discussions and activities

Students will be assessed on their ability to communicate and work effectively with others, as well as their ability to reflect on their own experiences and development.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE: Friday 18 September 2026

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to Group Trials on Friday 16 October, 9.30–11.30am at Massey High School.

Parents/caregivers of applicants must complete the online application form by the closing date.
