Automated absence notifications are daily text messages/emails sent to whānau when a student is marked absent by halfway through Period 1 (approximately 9.30am).

The purpose of these daily notifications is to let parents/caregivers know whether their son/daughter has been marked as present at school for the day.

The message you receive will read:

Message from Massey High School re: [Link] - A screenshot of the message is included for your reference.

The link is provided so you can view and respond to the absence notification.

We understand that receiving an absence notification may cause concern. Please note that receiving this message does not necessarily mean your son/daughter has not arrived at school. If a student arrives late and has not signed in through the correct process, they may still be marked absent, and an automated notification will be sent. 

If your child arrives late, they must sign in at the Attendance Office – if the Attendance Office is unattended, students must report to Reception.

If you receive an absence notification, you can:

• Reply Y with a reason if you are aware of the absence.
• Reply N if you are unaware of the absence.
• Disregard the message if you have already informed the school of your son/daughter's absence.
