Billie Rides to National Success
Year 12 student Billie Hughes earns ESNZ Youth Dressage Rider of the Year and celebrates an outstanding season of national and regional achievements.
Massey High School is incredibly proud of Year 12 student Billie Hughes (12MCW), who has enjoyed an outstanding season in dressage, earning national recognition for both her achievements and her commitment to the equestrian community.
At the ESNZ Hall of Fame Awards, Billie was named ESNZ Youth (Under 24) Dressage Rider of the Year. This prestigious honour recognises not only her exceptional competition results throughout the season but also her dedication to the sport through her work on the New Zealand Youth Council, where she has made a significant contribution, and her ongoing support and mentoring of younger riders.
Billie's success continued at the New Zealand Dressage Conference, where she received several major awards, including:
Zilco Equestrian Products Musical Freestyle Pony of the Year
AMS Saddlery Level 3 Premier League Pony of the Year
Dressage Waitematā Level 3 Pony
Dressage Waitematā Level 2 Horse
These remarkable achievements reflect Billie's talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. We congratulate her on an incredible season and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next. Billie is a wonderful ambassador for Massey High School, proudly representing our school on the national stage.
