Rolling Strikes This Week.
We have been notified today that there will be further industrial action by the PPTA this week and advised that teachers at our school will be taking rostered strike action.
This means that union members will be unavailable to teach a particular year group on a specified day. This will have an impact on selected year groups from Tuesday 14th October to Friday 17th October,
The Board has carefully considered the availability of teaching staff and decided that we cannot provide the normal teaching timetables for the selected cohorts of students during this strike action. It will be important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of your child/children on the day(s) of the strike.
Please see below for which year groups are affected on which day:
Tuesday 14th October – Year 9
Wednesday 15th October – Year 10
Thursday 16th October – Year 11 & 12
Friday 17th October - Year 13
Where year groups are not affected on the above days, full teaching programmes will continue. It is important that students are at school when required to minimise disruption to learning during this time.
The school will have supervision in place for students who are unable to be cared for at home. These students are asked to gather in the Reception area at 8:45am. We expect buses to run as normal.
We recommend that you keep up to date with information circulating through the media about any potential changes, we will update you via our website if we receive updated information from the PPTA.
I know that this is inconvenient for parents and students alike, but please be assured that student safety is our main concern.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Alastair Fairley
Principal
