Tournament Week is a fantastic way to wrap up the winter season for our top teams. It brings everyone together, pushes players to rise to new challenges, and reminds us that sport isn’t just about winning — it’s about passion, teamwork, and creating lifelong memories.

Playing alongside friends and teammates, our students got to enjoy the game they love while building unforgettable high school sports experiences. We’re incredibly proud of all our teams for their effort, spirit, and sportsmanship.

The girls played with incredible heart and determination throughout the tournament. They competed in 10 games over just 5 days — a huge step up from their usual schedule of one game per week during the season. Despite the intensity, they gave it their all, winning 5 games, drawing 1, and losing 4. Impressively, 3 of those losses were by only 1 or 2 points, showing just how close and competitive those matches were.  

We may not have the tallest team, but what we lack in height, we more than make up for in spirit. The girls never gave up, fought hard in every game, and showed true resilience and teamwork.

After winning their grade for the season, our hockey girls stepped up to face a whole new level of competition at the tournament. They played against schools from all over, and while the results didn’t always go their way, their spirits never wavered.

It wasn’t just about the scoreboard — it was about the experience, the challenge, and the growth. The girls showed resilience, teamwork, and pride every step of the way.

Hockey Boys Tournament Taupo

We played 6 games, didn’t get a win, and finished last… BUT — we scored two goals in two different games, which is a 100% improvement from last year (woohoo!) 

More importantly, our boys had an absolute blast! After finishing 2nd in their grade for the season, the tournament was a big step up — just like it was for the girls — and they rose to the challenge with great energy and team spirit.

It’s not always about the results — it’s about growth, fun, and making memories. And our boys definitely did that!

• How to get washing in the washing bag at the right time or you miss out 

Equestrian

Molly Buckingham came 3rd in the Show Jumping.  4th in the Three-Day Event.  6th today in Show Hunter.

Wrestling

Jack S Robinson competed at the Wrestling Nationals and came second in his category.

Curling

Team OK Broomer 8th Place Overall

(Amber Honey, Emma Winsloe, Emma Cantell, Torilynnn Tasmania)

In OK Broomer’s RR pool, there was a 3-way tie on number of points. OK Broomer had the worst draw shot challenge and head-to-head, so they dropped to the consolation pool ☹
