Massey High School Hosts Kāhui Ako Breakfast

This breakfast was held at Massey High School and hosted by our Hospitality Academy. It is a breakfast to honour the Learning Leaders of local schools who belong to our Kāhui Ako and some of the students who attended those schools.

The breakfast involved senior leadership teams from the schools and students at MHS who had been to the schools. The breakfast was designed, prepared and served by the Hospitality Academy students, and assisted by some Gold Badge Prefects. (https://youtube.com/shorts/T79XCrPvJd8?feature=share)

Kāhui Ako, or Communities of Learning, bring together education and training providers with the aim of helping students to achieve their full potential. Each Kāhui Ako sets shared goals, or achievement challenges, based on the needs of its children and young people. The Kāhui Ako works with students, their parents, whānau, iwi and communities to achieve those goals across the learner pathway.

Our Kāhui Ako is called Te Kāhui Ako oTiriwā. Te Kāhui Ako o Tiriwa is a Community of Learning centred around the Massey, West Harbour and Royal Heights areas. We are a vibrant kāhui ako comprising 7 full primary, 1 secondary (MHS) and 13 ECE schools in northwest Auckland.

It includes the following primary schools: Colwill, Royal Road, Lincoln Heights, Massey Primary, Don Buck, West Harbour and Westbridge, plus Massey High School.

At Te Kāhui Ako oTiriwā, quality education is our top priority. We believe that by working together and strengthening each other, we can raise the achievement of young people in our area and create growth in our community. We offer a wide range of programs for early childhood, primary and secondary schools, designed to provide the best learning experience for your child.
